Beans are not my favorite food. I rarely eat them. However, if you had things to them like chicken and spices, they can be a joy to eat.

Or beef, and it's Chile con carne.

Elk and venison would be even better.

Maybe I will have them with ox tail tonight.

If you remember the Monty Python skit with spam, and you live in Nebraska, you could pretty much change it thusly:
Customer: Morning,

Waitress: Morning.

Customer: What have you got?

Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon,
egg sausage and bacon
Egg and corn
Egg, bacon and corn
Egg, bacon, sausage and corn
Corn, bacon, sausage and corn
Corn, egg, corn, corn, bacon and corn
Corn, sausage, corn, corn, corn, bacon, corn tomato and corn
Corn, corn, corn, egg and corn
Corn, corn, corn, corn, corn, corn, baked beans, corn, corn, corn and corn.

Apologies. Elitist attitude. Nothing wrong with beans in a can. Nothing wrong with eating beans from a can. Forgive my California ignorance. Everyone in England, and from England, can now carry on with eating those cans of beans.

Again. California ignorance. I never knew that chicken was canned. First time in my life I saw a can of chicken.

Anything in a Can makes for a quick meal, I remember being a prep cook back in the day , I’d make the roast for shredded beef tacos, I’d grade up the cheese, etc , the most memorable was cleaning the pintos , you’d need a close eye on the bad beans but mostly the small pebbles , I would have to carefully measure and soak, the day before pot that was ready dump the water rinse again then Boil , in our process when they went to the mixer add tub of cooked beans , add salt and four cups of Lard,, make sure mixer setting was on low , proceed to mix , let main cook test add more lard and salt , while he was taisting , I was eating shredded beef with cheese on a freashly cooked Tortilla , beans will swell up like rice so a little goes a long way , but for Restaurant use we made ALOT , now I’m hungry

I didn't know that you made that with roast beef. I always thought that shredded beef was just chunks of tough meat, cooked in a pressure cooker, then shredded.

Manteca! Lard! That is something I have never used. I can't imagine wanting to add lard to anything I cook in my own kitchen. No wonder they say that eating out, and restaurant food, is bad for your health.

I'm starving too. Darn cable documentaries. I've been glued to the tube, watching a show about The 70's.

Happy Sunday Nor Cal. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Been feeling poorly since yesterday. Upset stomach, dry heaves, etc. Hopefully the worst is over now, and I can get on with my normal routine.

Get well Jim.

Spent most of the weekend in the office and have to hit the ground running until Halloween. Will probably be dropping in from time to time, especially if my body gives out like its warning me.

Feeling much better today. My stomach didn't toss anything up yesterday and I was able to eat three meals. So, it must have been the 24 hour flu again. Although, this time it was the light version.

Yellow corn, street taco, tortilla. Leftover from Taco Tuesday. Fried them into chips. Tasted better today than when I bought them yesterday. Excellent with a pinch of pink salt. Had it with fresh guacamole. Unless Lebron James files for a trademark on Guacamole. Then I'll have to refer to it as avocado dip.Tomorrow, when I spread the guacamole on sourdough; can I call it guacamole sourdough, or is it avocado toast?

USPTO denied Lebron James' trademark application for "Taco Tuesday." The examining attorney decided the phrase was a "commonplace message" and didn't allow the four-time MVP to trademark it.
