tire size?

Hi everyone, i need some basic help with tires. I currently have bias ply tires and want to stay with that.I don't mind the truck jumping all over the road, it adds to the adventure. I saw the Firestone tires on Coker site but they are 6.00x16. I currently have 6.50x 16 on the truck now. Can I put the 6.00x 16 tires on these rims? I see both size tires recommended in the Operators Manual and specs for this year and model. 1952 F-1 V8. Thanks!

I believe 6.50 X 16 tires were an option in 1952. My truck came to me with this size tire, and when it came time for new tires, it is the size I chose. I purchased my tires from Coker and stayed with bias ply. I'm happy with my decision. If you click on my user name (top left) you can access my personal profile. From there, your can find the threads I started. I have a thread on tires from two years ago that provides a good analysis of the pros and cons of bias ply tires.

Thanks Admiral James! Lol! That made for an interesting story. Im really glad you shared your experience with me on the tires. I really also love the seat covers done from the canvas! You have to think about doing some "fancy work", knotting work, someplace, maybe on the steering wheel maybe? This reminds me, my buddy Vince Brennan used to do that work he was in the Navy, he may still do this I'm not certain. His website is FrayedKnotArts.com I love his work and have commissioned him several times for various things. I think it might lend something special to your truck that would be very apropos.

Good Morning. I'm glad you found the tire discussion helpful. As you can see, we have some great guys on this forum that are very willing to take the time to share their wealth of knowledge and experience with people they've never met.

I like nautical things and checked out your friends website. I'm working on two classic wooden sailboats, and some of his fancy work would fit right in on them too.

Welcome to our forum. Be sure to post some pictures if you can, and tell us some more about your truck.

Cool! I'm in Eastern Monmouth County. What clubs are around here specific to these trucks? Do you belong to any?
