Transmission flush

I'm going to flush my C-6 by disconnecting the cooling line at the radiator and running the engine while I pour new oil in the dip stick tube. Anyone done this? Wondering if I'll make a mess. How much pressure and volume to expect.

I pulled my return line at the cooler and pumped almost 5 quarts in less then 25 seconds.I dont think you are going to be able to keep up with that rate if your pouring it in.

I have talked about changing tranny fluid in this manner in several forums. You run the cooling line into a bucket until you get bubbles. Add a couple of more quarts of fluid to flush and watch for bubbles again. Button the system back up WITH A FILTER INSTALLED in the cooling line! Then fill it back up.

yea, I use approx 3 empty milk jugs- fill one half up and stop truck, pour in two quarts, keep doing it untill all are dilled- Worked great on my grand cherokee.
