Tranny A or B?!?!
Hi Ranger89;
Welcome to the FTE Family!!Sometimes a repair manual is you 1st source for information + other times they ain't worth a damn! My Haynes says 3 different auto tranys. What I can see from the manual the C3+A4LD filter pan is a shallow, almost flat design + where the bellhousing bolts onto the engine it is mostly 1/2 circular ~ except for the 2 top bolt holes on the top of the housing which stick upward + look like 2; lets' say rabbit ears. C5 has a pan that gets bigger toward the bellhousing. Ya know! As I go along + figure this out you need to know if you have a C3 or a A4LD! OK! HERE WE GO! GOT YOUR ANSWER!!!
MY HAYNES BOOK SAYS: POSITION THE TRANSMISSION MANUAL SHIFT LEVER IN THE DRIVE POSITION BY MOVING THE BELLCRANK LEVER ALL THE WAY REARWARD, THEN FORWARD TO THE SPECIFIED NUMBER OF DETENTS (3 DETENTS FOR A C3 OR C5 < THIS IS NOT THE TRANY YOU HAVE, + 4 DETENTS FOR A A4LD!! THESE ARE AUTOMATIC TRANYS THAT I AM DISCRIBING TO YOU!! ________________________________________________Take a walk on the wild side + you'll find me there!!
