I have a 94 f-250 with 351w and duel tanks my rear Kano works fine my front doesn’t I switch to it and it idles roughy for a min and dies but back to my problem I go to put gas in and it kicks off right away some times gas comes out and you can hear air trying to come up. 6 months ago I replaced the rear fuel pump and I checked the vent systems and seemed clear and free of debris also the plastic plunger went up and down ok. I noticed that the fuel charcoal canister vacuum line was disconnected could this affect the ventilation also if I ran a constant vacuum on it will it hurt anything? Please help I’m tired of sitting at the pump for 30-40 min for 15+ gallons every time and thanks for any help
Sounds like the vent pipe on the filler tube(not the EVAP vent) is kinked or otherwise obstructed. The filler tube is actually 2 concentric tubes, the smaller inner hose fills the tank and the larger outer tube vents air from the tank to allow it to fill.
The EVAP system is separate and it's function only comes into effect once the filler tank is sealed up and the vehicle is underway, it collects fuel vapors from the tank and channels them into the motor via the can purge valve to be used. This system is only designed to handle a small volume of vapor and wouldn't help much with the amount of air displaced by filling a tank even if it was open.
