Ha.! Part of the deal was he wasn't allowed to sell it. But it holds sentimental value for him since it was my dads for several yrs so I'm not to worried about that happening but it'll be something else our families can do together.

So I did create a profile. yes Someday has arrived. I am the new owner of Jchets Orange and have been restoring it as you see in the pics. I am a new user and as i get settled I will start a new thread on this truck so you can hear my side in some detail of what has been completed so far. also with some more pictures. I have taken a little break from the truck but will get back into it soon. hope to have you follow along and some pressure or motivation to get it complete.

Welcome Aboard Ralston 76. ...and welcome Urnge, or have you re-named the beast?
Yes, start a thread of your own, and yes...lotsa pictures. It's a great way to document your build.
Not to mention all the great advice from fellow FTE members.
thanks for the welcome. And I will start a new thread for The truck.
I didn’t change the name of the truck yet. But JChets Orange 1979 F150 4x4 regular cab long bed is Jchet729’s Dads old truck he passed away a few years back. He started to take it apart to restore it and didn’t get that far into it before his health declined.
Urange is Jchet729’s high school truck his first vehicle. A 1978 F100 short cab short box. They are both orange in color so it can get confusing. We have been friends since the 4th grade around 1984 or there about. I was close enough to them that his Dad had me as family in his SnapOn tool truck. So when he talked about selling his dads truck because of too many projects I wasn’t about to let Dads truck go anywhere else if I could help it. So I was able to buy it the beginning of the year. I am so happy with this truck words can’t express it. So more to come with my truck JChets Orange, and hopefully Urange Jchet729’s truck. So far FTE is just been awesome for info.
cheers.
