So far:
Checked the fuses
Checked all exterior bulbs, esp 3rd brake light
Changed out the Speed Control Inhibitor Switch next to the brake pedal (blue & white switch) All brake lights work as they should Floor Console shifter will not come out of Park unless I press the brake pedal The dash indicator does not light up for On or Set **I replaced the ECM/PCM. I got it from Flagship One, already programmed, along with programmed keys. Seems to work perfectly. Only issue is cruise control. I don't think they would have loaded the AsBuilt file and left off the cruise. I did not find a switch on the master cylinder. Any ideas would be very appreciated . 2006 F150 King Ranch 5.4L 2WD
1, Did the speed control work properly with the old PCM?
2. Why was the PCM replaced?
3. Have you verified that the PCM is seeing the correct inputs from all of the switches?
4. Have you checked the PCM for any fault codes that would inhibit speed control operation?
5. Have you checked the PCM's programmable parameters to verify the speed control is enabled?
1, Did the speed control work properly with the old PCM? Yes 2. Why was the PCM replaced? Error code related to ROM on the PCM 3. Have you verified that the PCM is seeing the correct inputs from all of the switches? No. Not sure how 4. Have you checked the PCM for any fault codes that would inhibit speed control operation? There are no error codes at all on new PCM 5. Have you checked the PCM's programmable parameters to verify the speed control is enabled? No. Assumed it would be automatically turned on when the AsBuilt file was loaded onto the new PCM.
I have ForScan loaded on my laptop, and an OBD connector, but haven't tried any of that yet.
There iare two 'I don't knows' involved here, but I can possibly help on affirmative answers to both of them.
I have found / isolated and tested several OBDII PID flags for the steering wheel cruise control switches on my 2004 150 Lariat, using the Torque Pro app. Now - what I don't know. (1) I have seen lots of OBDII PID variations even in seemingly identical vehicles, so cant be certain they will work on your '06. (2) I do not know if you can create custom PIDs and gauges to read specific PIDs by # on your ForScan as permitted by Torque Pro.
However - within those limitations - the following is tested and valid on my truck.
PID # A211 is two binary bytes where bit assignments are as follows: Byte B is low order, bit 0 is low order. All indicators are "Momentary Switches"
A211, byte B- bit 0 = ACCS - A/C Control Switch has been closed. 0=open 1=closed
A211, byte B- bit 1 = BPP1- Brake Pressure Applied (Cruise Cancel). 0=enable 1=cancel
A211, byte B- bit 2 = ??
A211, byte B- bit 3 = ??
A211, byte B- bit 4 = ??
A211, byte B- bit 5 = ??
A211, byte B- bit 6 = SCSOP - Cruise Control OFF button pressed
A211, byte B- bit 7 = SCS1P - Cruise Control ON button pressed
A211, Byte A- bit 0 = ??
A211, Byte A- bit 1 = ??
A211, Byte A- bit 2 = ??
A211, Byte A- bit 3 = ??
A211, Byte A- bit 4 = CPP/TCS - Clutch Pedal Pressed / Overdrive Switch Pressed
A211, Byte A- bit 5= CCSET - Cruise Control SET button Pressed
A211, Byte A- bit 6= CCCOAST - Cruise Control COAST button Pressed
A211, Byte A- bit 7= CCRSUME - Cruise Control RESUME button Pressed
This might help without having to tear air bag out and steering wheel off to test switches. Or some of the Torque Pro users might benefit.
I don't have a problem trying the Torque program. If you think that will be a safer thing to try, I'll give it a shot. What puzzled me is, if a recent AB file is loaded into the PCM module, wouldn't it turn on the cruise control by default? It surprises me that it would have to be switched on.

.
OH, I may have mislead you. The Torque thing is totally a safe thing but aint gonna 'FIX' nithing. ForScan is more readily capable of setting parameters/options in the PCM (and therefore screwing something up) - yet another (third) thing I don't know.
The Torque thing might help sort it out.
I appreciate any input from anyone. My plan is to connect Forscan tomorrow and see if there's anything that looks obviously set incorrectly. I see that you need a spreadsheet with data codes to edit some modules. I haven't been able to find the codes for my 2006. I'm hoping to find some on/off or enabled/disabled settings. Guess I'll find out tomorrow .
Ok, I'm stumped. It appears the issue on my cruise control not coming on may be a bad brake pressure switch. On an 04, the switch was right in front of the brake fluid reservoir. On the 06, it's not anywhere near the master cylinder that I can find. Anyone know where it is?
If that's not it, or if it's a manual trans, check the clutch pedal position switch. I know older models they recalled the brake pressure switch, in the location you mentioned, due to a fire hazard, but I don't know if they were that way on the 04's or not. Would not surprise me.

The pressure switch was eliminated starting with the 04 NBS F150s (Note: The 04 F150 Heritage models still used the brake pressure switch). It was replaced by a mechanically activated switch mounted to the upper brake pedal arm. Look for a blue and white switch.
The video in the preceding post is of a Super Duty, not an F150. Different schedule on the transition. The SD trucks still had a pressure switch on the master cylinder through the 2010 MY.
