Congratulations, Mark! It also looks like you had a nice build progress display. I'm sure it made a difference. I believe people really appreciate seeing what it takes to build a project like that, and most people are in awe of the efforts. Great job!
I had a banner made that showed 6 progress pics with the dates May 2010 - Jun 2019. It was the bosses idea. Still working on a photo album, but some people don't like flipping thru an album so for those I have the banner. Here is their web site.
I went to the Avon American Legion Family Car show today. This is the first time I went to something other than a cruise in. It was a participant judged event. There were over 100 vehicles entered, and I actually won something.
Everyone always comments on the color, especially the ladies,
Your hooked now !! It's like the FORD truck disease . No cure , only treatment !
So I broke down and went to another car show yesterday. There were over 260 entries at this one. Here are a few pics of some of the entries. Here is a link to their flyer
What really blows my mind is when I was restoring my truck I had no plans to show it. I built it for me. The gaps in the doors and hood aren't even. It has a 50/50 paint job. Looks good 50 feet away or at 50 miles per hour. Close up there are flaws like runs and paint chips from actually driving it.
But going to the cruise ins and seeing what other people were entering in the local shows made me start entering it...just to see what people had to say. I have had so many people come up to me and ask about how I did the tilt hood, how did I add power steering and keep the three on the tree! Where did I have the truck painted. I have all of you to thank for that.
I will keep going to the shows as long as people are interested in looking or have questions about something I did.
