Possible transmission question
I have 2004 F350 6.0 diesel with 152,000 miles. The problem is when I stop the truck waiting to go. The tachometer fluctuates about 25 rpm's. The mechanic can't find anything wrong with the engine. It does it only when warmed up. He seems to think there is a valve or solenoid sticking in transmission.Also seems like sometimes I'm taking off in 2nd gear. When I tow my camper in tow haul mode runs like a charm. Do these transmissions need flushing out? Any help would be grateful. Just got back from transmission shop. They seem to think the problem is in the motor.Still no codes though. However tachometer did fluctuate while in park. Still stumped.Feel free with any info.
