Towing mode question

I have a 03 6.0L SD and wanted to know if I need to always need the tow mode activated when towing my camper. When I towed with a gasser I always used the tow mode but it didnt seem to make much of a difference with it on or off with the Diesel.

You should, but its there to help you. If you don't want it, don't use it, but it'll help the engine out even if you don't notice.

It stays in the gears longer on axcel, helps stopping by dropping into lower gear faster than without it. When I drive on flat land, I don't use it except when stopping....
