Rear ABS

Im replacing my Open Diff with a Limited Slip Carrier, do I need to reinstall the Reluctor Ring on the Carrier as the Limited Slip Unit does not have it. This truck Does NOT have the ABS Sensors on the Axles, so Im thinking its a redundant item ? '96 Ford Ranger,

Well Ill answer my own question Looks as tho It has to be there, The PCM is looking for it even tho NO wheel sensors are present,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the speedometer is run from the reluctor

It very well could be used for that as well. I have to machine the carrier to accept it tho.

You will need that if you want your speedometer to work. What carrier did you get? Most are made so the tone ring will fit.

'86 T-Bird, had to turn off about 1/16" on the Ring Gear Dia. It's in and all finished now..just have to add lube. Going to be nice to have 2WD in winter.
