Brake Light Problems

Ok... I stripped every wire from my truck except the 3 wires that go from the cab to the tail lights.
My problem is this...
1 wire lights up tail lights, another does right bright light, other does left bright light.

Here is how I have it wired so far....
Power wire to a toggle switch
Toggle switch controls headlights/taillights
From the toggle switch it goes to the High/low switch in the floor.
From that power wire it Ys...
power in to the switch, and the other wire going to the tail lights.
That way when I flip the switch, the taillights are on, and so are headlights
Turn signals I will be wiring to the original switch in the dash
My problem is this:
The way I have it wired.
When I get brake lights... the front 2 turn signals come on but don't flash
I want to illeminate that.
How does Ford do this from the factory?
Sorry about the long post, but I really need help.
Im sure I can figure it out but im stumped at the moment.
I would have used the original switch and all but it was junk, and the wiring under the dash had been spliced and respliced a million times.

Man -- no one seems to be replying. I think you need a wiring diagram, or a new wiring harness, or quite probably BOTH.

Sorry to be so useless to you. Only so much that can be solved and described via "text".

Ford isolated the brake lights from the turn signals in the turn signal switch lcated in the steering column. Get a diagram. it will show you how.

Where could I get a diagram for that?
I only need the turn signal diagram
as everything else I have figured out
I dont want a new harness. as the way I did it... its a new harness
All new wires, all color coded.
The turn signal switch has maybe 6 wires hanging out of it.
I just need to know how to wire up the brake lights with it
If someone could send me a diagram or even make one in paint, Id appreciate it.

Andy, (and anybody needing wiring help)

If you want to buy a diagram, go to www.ClassicCarWiring.com. They have AWESOME diagrams, man; easy to read, color coded, cheap. Magic.

I got the 11x17 one. It's like a Leatherman; once I got it, I don't know how I lived without it.

I really didnt want to purchase one just for brake lights
but I may have to.... call me cheap. lol
But Im trying to get a roll pan for my truck as it is.
I was going to put 4 lights in it... Now I know how I'll do it
Instead of wiring the turn signals and taillights together
I'll put Outermost lights as running lights/turn signals
and the inner 2 as brake lights
Thats if I get around to a roll pan
Thanks for the link tho.
I'll try again before i purchase a diagram
