Yep, if they plates are still open a tick it'll allow fuel to trickle down into the intake and cause run-on after the engine is shut off. Ran into this with my 76 w/ 390. Took a little head scratching to figure out.

Backing the high idle screw off will help. Anything that's keeping those throttle blades open more than the tiniest fraction of an inch can cause that run on issue imo. I've also seen floats being adjusted too high causing fuel to spill over past the throttle blades at shutdown, cause it as well.

Thank you. I'll back off the high idle a little more. The rear bowl is a little higher than the front bowl. I'll lower it as well. I never have had this problem before. learning a lot. My first high compression roller engine.
