Carb Problems
My 66 Custom cab truck had a 352 in it with only 40k on it and it broke the crank. I put a fresh rebuilt 390 in its place and for some reason my carb will not idle the truck in gear without the choke being set slightly. Took another carb off a 428 and now the truck runs perfect. The first carb ran the 352 great but it don't like the 390. dose anyone know what size jets I should run for a 4bbl 600cfm Holley carb? Thank you for your help.

You needed to enrichen the idle circuit by either turning out the idle screws or raising the float level. Pulling the choke on enrichens the idle mixture. A 390 need more fuel to feed the engine at idle than a 352. The main jets have noting to do with idle circuit as long as they are not plugged.

Took the carb apart pulled the metorign block out found a bug in it, not sure what is wrong with the carb yet, but I am sure it is not some thing wrong with the motor. Have a loaner carb and the motors runs perfect.
