Way too stiff

So, I just installed new F250 rear springs and a 3 inch RC lift with front springs and WOW is this thing ROUGH. I need a kidney belt everytime i leave the house.

I live in the Rockies and dirt roads are everywhere. My buddy runs the Bilstien 5100 but his springs are original.
I'm looking for opinions on the best shocks to soften the ride.

From what I've seen Rough Country uses cheap harsh springs. Go back to stock or get Procomp springs.

If your buddy's truck is either one of those two pictured, it isn't riding on the original springs (maybe rears with more block), both rigs shown are lifted.

Yup. Rough Country is garbage. Take it off and get a quality lift. Shocks won't do anything for you to take out stiffness of the garbage springs.

Illegal in some places, front blocks will get you a fail on the annual PA safety inspection.

Shocks won't fix hard springs. Something that can fix them is Solastic Springs shackles, but different springs might be the better way to go. You could also try removing a few leaves.

Correction

Rear Blocks and front shackles on my buddies truck. I went with RC 3 inch springs in front and ProComp F250 springs in the rear.

Here's a BEFORE shot running on bald tires. Just purchased it in Vegas

I have ford oem c code dually rear springs and oem ford 3/4 ton rear blocks, and diesel springs up front on my V10 excursion.

Live in rockys too at 7800 ft. Lots of gravel roads and my springs ride better than stock. The extra weight in rear of excursion loads them perfect.

I have the 5100 blistien shocks.

Thanks for info. Ill give the 5100s a try before swapping the springs. We're at 9000ft in Woodland Park. Just west of the Springs. Today I'm working in Cuchara. A long way SW of home.

I don't think 5100s will help you much.

1) tire pressure should be 45 psi or so
2) what are your spring rates? I suspect they are too stiff.
3) what is the condition of your body mounts?

Yuck 9000 ft is about 30% loss of horsepower and torque. And I thought the 20% to 25% I have was bad.
