Towing heavy

Nice write up here. For those of you who have made the purchase, I'm sure you've already acquired the essentials to tow safely with this little beast.

The funny thing about the article is how the author compares the Ranger's towing and hauling abilities to an F-150 Limited.

The Ranger is mighty for sure.

It's a nice option for people who two only occasionally, and as the writer correctly point out, it's as capable as some half-ton trucks.

With a payload of 1,580 lbs, the Ranger is actually a 3/4 ton truck... Impressive. I remember a long thread when people discovered the payload of many loaded F150's (particularly with 20" wheels) was barely over 1,000 lbs. That is not impressive.

I agree. I'm not sure why people don't refer to midsize trucks as "half-ton" also. They have the same specs.

My last two trucks:

2013 F-150 Supercrew 4x4 5.0L - 1,534 lbs. payload / 7,700 lbs. towing
2020 Gladiator 3.6L - 1,511 lbs. payload / 7,650 lbs. towing

I can confirm that towing near the limit is fine in the Jeep and feels exactly like towing with the F-150. I assume the Ranger would do just the same with it's 10-speed and slightly more torque plus really good payload.
