Gonna be ordering my truck before long. Just curious if people with the smallest backup camera screen that comes standard on the XL/XLT are happy with it? Is it large and clear enough for assisting in hooking up trailers (which is all I generally use the camera for)?
The Sync 3 would be better for that I’m sure, but the $1100 would only be justified if the standard small screen was very poor and the Sync 3 was very good.
Smaller sync screen works fine in my truck. Bigger screen with the 360* view is cute, but I imagine it gets a lot more use steering around BMW’s at the mall parking lot than anything else.
It’s fine for backing up to a trailer. But ,I really don’t need a camera to back up to a trailer. the camera itself is often dirty and needs to be wiped off. So I end up getting out to clean it.
The back up cam is nice to have. But I can get by without it. Now the power folding mirrors are something I wouldn’t be without.
Years ago the small screen would have been fine. Anymore my wife calls me Mr. Magoo so the large screen is a real life saver for me. It too has the zoom feature that really scopes in on the coupler.
I updated the radio to an Alpine ilx-107 and the stock camera works really well. The larger screen is nice to have but the stock 3x4 inch screen is not at all bad. Like everything else with these trucks, it depends on what you’re coming from.

Same here went with a kenwood, , camera is ok on the small better on a larger screen
I was stumped also. I just googled this and it says if you have the 4" screen you can zoom in and out by pressing the OK button on the control panel. Guess what I will be doing later.
