I have an 03 6.0 dually I have a problem with the stalling under a load. It runs great until I reach 70 mph and hit over 2k rpm. Then the pedal seems to lag and sometimes goes dead. I replaced both fuel filters and not much better result. If I stop the truck an put in park rev it up the lag goes away and won’t come back till truck hits over 70 mph and over 2k rpm. Any ideas? Thank you in advance. I’ve read these forums for help and have seen great info so I joined today to see if there is any advice.
Need some more truck info if you got it, and did you use motorcraft filters? Can you get us some DTC's and PID readings? I use FORScan (free for windows and $7 for a smartphone) and a BAFX wifi obdii adapter ($27).
The visual inspection of the motor and wiring doesn’t turn up anything suspicious. The truck is stock tuned. Other than a few bulletproof upgrades. The HPOP headbolts ficm, ipr valve and the icon are all under a year old. Just replaced the egr valve a few days ago. It has its regular maintenance oil changes filter changes, air and fuel too. The truck doesn’t seem to care how you get to the 70 mph 2k rpm mark. You can mash the gas and get there quickly or gradually get there, the results are the same.you can go past 2k rpm while under load just not after 70 mph. No tuner no visible oil leaks. Oil lvl stays constant.I removed my bed to make accessing underneath easier. Fuel pressure at idle is 48 I have not tested it yet under load.
I had same issue static 50 and under wot sucked to 0 just like that..... did blue spring up grade never dropped under 60 or so at wot... just a thought
