Would you weld this?

One of the PO filled the crack with a bead of caulk. Would it be smart to put a bead of weld down it? There's a big enough gap that I can see through it.

You can of course brew. But the only question is whether it will interfere with you in the furthest exploitation? There are many different adhesives that hold well and can be quickly removed if necessary.

Can we get a larger-scale pic?

My thought: welding will trap in moisture and contaminates and speed the rust.
