yes you do. back in the day we used GT 390 mounts but now you can buy everything you need for a simple conversion. I know Landl sells them but I bet there are more options.
i have a 79 150 I know its a different beast but I originally bought the extreme mounts from jeffs bronco graveyard to convert and they were crap. I emailed them back and forth about poor welds and incomplete welds, they stated that's how they are and that they would trust it. I asked if they would reimburse me when they broke and my new engine assembly was damaged they said no so I returned the, L&l makes ones that have good reviews, but id stay away from jbg
the bottom one the wcb one is the one from jbg. the stud that goes to the frame is literally a bolt they welded on a couple sides. the shoulder of the bold doesn't sit ontop of the hole, the bolt head is welded inside an open hope. in the pic the washer covers it. I made a post on it and if I can find the pic ill show ya, I even emailed it to them and they said that's how they all are.
That does look like a 1/2 **** job.... but nothing a welder could not fix in 5 min with a 3 min beer break. Is that even a grade 8 bolt? I can see the center of the head, it is blurry. Thanks for the feed back on them, and now we all know.
I can't remember if it was an 8 or not, I dot think it was, they said the same thing that if I had an issue I could weld it, I said for the money I paid no way should I have to, plus I figured it was a cop out so if they failed post welding they would say I modified them, thanks for the link to the 460 efi guys, never heard of them but I like their mounts
X2 on for the $ the purchaser should NOT have to do any welding, just installing. And X22 on the 460 EFI guys stuff looks solid. Just came across them on a Google search. Looks like I need to get my Google-foo on more often. And see what is new in the world.
