Flush in prep for blower motor

In preparation for swapping the screechy blower motor, flushed the cooling system yesterday. Put in the Prestone flush, ran the truck 40 miles, let it cool overnight, then took off the hose from the thermostat to the heater core and let it drain. Then popped the lower radiator hose and let the rest of the system drain. Ran low pressure fresh water through, alternating putting the hose to the heater core hose and pouring water into the radiator. Got some brown water but no particulate crap from the block, but it turned clear within a few seconds. Kept flushing until everything came out clear continuously, then reattached the lower hose and filled it up till water started coming out the heater hose. Gently ran water into the core until full, then buttoned 'er up. Ran the engine till the thermostat opened and topped it off with fresh water. I figure another drive today, let it cool, then drain it again and do the fan.

I am continually amazed at how everything I do seems to verify that this is an under-100K truck as the original odo mileage indicated.

Mine is intermittent in my truck, I drove it a few times during the winter, and it wouldn't come on. Of course once the weather warmed up, it's worked every time I've tried it...

The one in my '88 GT just started screeching this year.
