Need help ..? Put a2006 econoline van motor into a F250 , it’ll turn over but no spark , need computer or wiring harness maybe ... not sure what’s compatible and what isn’t .. help ty
Did you replace a 5.4 with a 5.4 with the same number of valves? If yes, continue. If no....
Did you strip the old engine of everything electronic, and leave all that connected to the vehicle? If yes, continue. If no....
Did you strip all the electronics, intake, FEAD, off the new engine, and replace those items with the same things from the recipient vehicle?
Do you have anything not connected?
The "rule" is to strip the long block down to the point where the stripped long blocks look the same. Then the original intake, and all electrical connections from the recipient vehicle are installed on the "new" long block. No harness, no ecu, none of that comes over with the engine in this swap.
Yeah, a 2005 F250 5.4 is going to be 3-valve, and the E-series is 2-valve I believe... you're going to need (at the very least) the PCM and wiring harness from the E-series. If you already did that, start checking for +12V at the red wires at the injectors and coils, and then signal from the crank position sensor.
This might be some bad news, but ... the engine you have is not what was supposed to be in there. The engine you SHOULD have is the 3-valve, the second valve cover pic. The engine you DO have is a 2-valve.
