While tracing the wiring harness to the 4WABS under the van I gave the OSS sensor connector a little wiggle just to check on it and it wasn't plugged in all the way! Plugged it in and went for a test drive and it shifts fine! No OD off light flashing and cruise control works! I definitely feel like an idiot, I must not have locked the connector all the way down and it probably came disconnected on the first test drive after replacing the PSOM. That explains why the tranny and OD off light behavior was different after replacing the PSOM, because the PCM wasn't getting any reading from the OSS at all...
THANKS SO MUCH SUBFORD! Sorry that after all you walked me through it ended up being something so dumb but now I know way more about the van than I thought I ever would. I definitely owe you one. Maybe I'll drive the van up to Kansas to deliver you a 6 pack haha.
ABS light still comes on intermittently but I'll worry about that later.
Now I just need to transfer odometer data from old PSOM to new. Do I need a specific EEPROM programmer? Or will any work? What sort of software do I need?
I can not say for sure but would think any EEPROM programmer would work.
I bough one off amazon and it came with software.
I just had to buy a 8 pin dip clip.
It works with W10, W7 and XP computers.
I think they shipped it from China.
@subford Problem with VSS signal seems to be fixed but now after driving the van quite a bit the tranny bumps/shudders when shifting into 3rd & OD. Feels like going over rumble strips when shifting at speed. Could this be happening because I haven't recalibrated the speedometer for my tires? Or should I try a flush and fluid change?
