Disabling hyper flash with LED rear turns

Has anyone figured out how to do this?i tried Forscan but it still had the hyper flash. I have searched and searched the forum but no joy. I did not want to install the resistors but I guess that may be the only alternative. Can anyone assist?

If you do resistors buy quality ones. and mount them to metal. They get super hot.

Did you do bulbs only or did you do full LED replacements? What brand?

You can absolutely do it with Forscan, I did it a long time ago so I don't have the codes handy but they are in the spreadsheet for sure

I had this problem when trailers attached to my SD were outfitted with led lights. I have no problem with my 5th wheel equipped with conventional lights but my new boat trailer w/ led & my old utility trailer that I upgraded to led lights experienced the hyper flash & "fault" messages. Other members of this website recommended an adapter that has worked for me. If this sounds like your problem I suggest the Tow-Ready 7-way flat pin to 7-way flat pin LED Lamp-Out Bypass Adapter #20142.

UPDATE.

The orange lines in the spreadsheet are what needs to be changed for front and rear LEDs.

This is done using the text based part of Forscan, not the HEX area where you change individual hex codes.

PM me if you want more info.

You did not mention if you installed brake and front turn LEDs. If you did both, there are at least 2 separate changes for them. If I have a chance, I’ll check my Forscan sheet. But they are in there.

Thanks for the responses everyone. To answer a couple of questions.... I replaced the tail light bulbs only and have not hooked up a trailer yet. I will give the changes in Forscan mentioned above a shot and report back.

Thanks again!

If it’s just the rear you need the rear led line, the ABM configure line and the DTC operation line.

Change “outage” to “no outage” in three locations in BdyCM (not as-built). Can’t remember the names of the three, but there’s three.

Check this video out at the 24:00 mark. That's where the FORScan portion begins.

Thanks again everybody. Awesome support! The video was very helpful. It was the “Outage ABM” that needed changed to “No Outage” I was missing. I wonder how that step can get added to the spreadsheet?

The ABM configuration is on one of the sheets

I did this mod some time ago and the spreadsheet info I posted cross references back to a F-150 spreadsheet.

Most of the F-150 crosses over to the super duty. But I have a complete master list of the spreadsheet I have found/used to do all my mods. But, I’m all about record keeping when doing software/firmware modifications.

I do this stuff for a living.

It's been a while but I believe it's the body control module, shown a Bdy or BCM.
