USB Ports

Is there a simple way to get the USB ports and the 12volt ''cigarette lighters" to be constantly HOT and not have to be key switched on? When I'm out in the desert I like to charge up my phone and camera overnight.

Mount a usb/cig lighter port in the dash cubby and wire it up to the battery. There's a couple threads on here with info and pics.

I did the forscan mod for 4 hours , my lighter plug works , but I have not tested the usb. That's what I use for charging phones and cameras. I use a small electric cooler at the same time too

This is about the best you can do without retiring something.

My USBs in the front tray and the cigarette lighter in the console are hot with key off. At least my phone shows that its charging. However in either position even while the truck is running the phone does not charge. In fact it seems to discharge faster. Only the rear seat USBs will charge my phone. Key on or off. And at a pretty quick rate. The front USBs register that the phone is plugged and it works with my gmaps but the phone discharges quickly. I havnt had time to even look yet nor have I been back to the dealer for anything yet.
