Kinda like 2011 F150 vs 09-10.

Having the same displacement does not mean its the same engine. Ford has stated and published it is Phase III of the 6.7 engine, my bet is that have changed a bit more than the dipstick and the radiator cap! Besides, I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night.

It's nothing to get your panties in a bunch about its still the same motor. Just like in 2015 they did a refresh and again 2107 because it was a complete flop lots of warranties issues

They just need to figure out cheap parts and cheap labor don't mix with a diesel MOTOR

FORD IS ALSO FINDING OUT THIS

As you can see, out of the more common metals, copper and aluminum have the highest thermal conductivity while steel and bronze have the lowest. ... Because steel is a poor conductor of heat, it's good for high-temperature environments like airplane engines

THOSE PISOTNS WILL NOT HANDLE VERY MANY REGENERATION CYCLES

Those silly Ford Engineers.. trading off aluminum for forged steel when they should have just asked you about it first. .

These new one-piece forged steel pistons are far shorter in height than the second-gen Power Stroke's aluminum pistons, and they drop the compression ratio from 16.2:1 to 15.8:1. They feature much tighter ring lands and what are claimed to be the lowest-tension rings in the industry (for lowest-in-class friction). The piston pins are smaller than usual, and the connecting rod bearings they run in feature bronze inserts. The mass of the new steel pistons is only slightly greater than the aluminum ones they replace. New split-stream oil-cooling jets target both the piston crown and those new smaller piston pin

The fact is, the long block is different. Different oil pump, pistons, and probably rods to go along with them. If I build a 557ci BBF, does that mean it's the same as a stock 460 in a '96 F350? I mean...they are the same block
Edit: Short block is what I meant to say. Long block is definitely different.

Lower compression is probably coupled with the new turbo to force more air into the cylinders. Mo powar!

Pricing is what I want to see sooner than later. Once I know just what the 7.3 , 10 speed and Tremor cost , I may decide to get a left over 19.

Black Lariat Sport 7.3 for me. No tremor as I dont mind it being a bit lower. Ill add real shocks and rubber of my choosing. Just waiting for axle news; sterling w 7.3L? And tow rating: 3.73 vs 4.10. Pre 20 the 12,000 rating of the 3.73s was underwhelming IMHO.
