Engine swap
Hello everyone!!! I’ve owned fords in the past but, I was mostly a Chevy guy. So, that’s where most of my knowledge lies. I recently bought a 1988 f-250 with a 460. It’s a bit tired and I was debating putting a used engine in (time factor) or rebuilding my old one. I found a 1993 engine but I’m unsure if that will work in my 88. If anyone on here knows, I would really appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks in advance. Look forward to learning from you all!!!

Yes it will work but you will need to use all the underhood wiring and ECU from your 1988. The fuel rails you may also need to use from your 88 as I think the connectors are different on the newer 92-up trucks.
