F250 Electrical Gremlin

Hey all, have a 17 250 diesel STX with 26k miles that is giving me some weird electrical issues... when I turn the key over to acc I sometimes get error messages on the cluster display like - check brake system, hill start assist not available, and dimming (as in the console lights). The clock will also occasionally go from 12 to 24 hour format. Finally, the console display will reset to the main screen instead of staying on the last setting.

Took it into the dealership for a week and they scratched their head. Apparently they called Ford and they told them to test on a new one to see if it did the same. Sure enough they tested a new 19 and it said check brake system. They sent me home saying it is normal.

I cant believe this is normal operation, what do you think?

Dealership ips said they checked the batteries and they were fine and flashed everything back to as built.

Appreciate you guys! Been a long time browser of the site!

Quite a few electrical problems can be traced to the connectors that are forward of the bumper, on the inside of the frame. Pull them open and inspect them for water and corrosion.

Ford looked at and found some corrosion in the trailer brake wiring. Clock still flips between 12 and 24 hour mode though. Back to service for that.... starting on it’s 3rd week in the shop.:/

Edit: Replaced the batteries with Ford and it cleared everything up!
