Hey guys. Truck is a 2016 F-250 Lariat CCSB 6.2 4x4. Had my A/C on today like any other summer day and I noticed the fan speed was inconsistent at the lower speeds. It would speed up and slow down all on its own. If I set it to blow at full speed or one setting below full speed the problem went away however any speed setting below that and the fan would alternate the speed all by itself.
When the HVAC is in the Auto mode, the speed can vary. I think there are other times the speed can increase or decrease depending on the OAT. The fan speed is controlled by an FET controller located on the bak side of the HVAC box. The dash would need to be removed to change it.

I don’t keep it on auto. I’m glad to hear that it can change fan speeds on its own however it’s weird that I’ve had the truck 3 years (almost to the day!) and Wednesday was the first time it’s done this.

Any ideas?
Yes. Had the same issue. $60 and 2 bolts. Motor and fan combo. Under the hood on passenger side. Took me 10 minutes. Now fan works perfect

I don't believe the fan on the 2011-2016 trucks is under the hood. I think there are 3 screws and can be removed from inside on the passenger side of the HVAC box.
[QUOTE=Rob steingraber;18817387]Yes. Had the same issue. I have a 2004 super duty. Different replacement proceedures, but look into your motor and fan. That will definatly cause the same symptoms
