Rebuild kit contain generic parts which fit many different variations of the carburetor. The type of parts in these kits are generic which fit across multiple engines. They do not include engine specific parts such as the fuel metering jets.
Buy piano wire to run through the passages to make sure none are clogged.
Use a good cleaner such as Gumout. Many cleaners are not very good.
Original applications: 1970/71 F250/350 360 with M/T
This carb has a choke pull-off diaphragm (D0AZ-9J549-C / Motorcraft CM-1283) mounted in the airhorn. It was introduced in 1970, but does not come in the carb kit.
my late '73 or early '74 390 bone stock original F350 truck with 390 and 2100 carb is D4TE. i totaly disassembled my 2100 carb. i have reassembled it with a basic Walker rebuild kit.
it ran good fine when it was last run and then parked, but it has been parked/NR for at least a couple years now,, until i recently, as i just acquired it from my uncle, from his property, across town,, where he had parked it.
had some dirt in the carb bowl but nothing bad at all, really actually was pretty clean inside it for a 44 year old carb, i also pull the intake manifold and replaced all the gaskets/seals, since it was dumping oil out the rear of the intake really horribly bad, and for a long long time.
for some reason the red rubber unbrella check valve for the acclerator pump was missing from inside the walker rebuild kit for the carb, so i am now waiting for a valve to arrive at local napa store tues afternoon hmmm.. so i an reinstall thw carb along with replacing the EGR spacer plate with a solid phenolic 3/4" thick spacer i also found and ordered and got, from NAPA.
and yes in 1970 it was the first year the choke pull off diapragm came on these carbs,a nd if you have manual choke conversion like mine has been. then you really dont need to have the choke pull-off,
therefore, i am doing away with mine..
i am permanently plugging the vacuum passage to it, in the base plate of the carb.
and also in the area where the pull off diapragm was located.
i also permanently sealed the other vacuum passage, for the hot air vacuum choke, in the base plate of the carb, with the JB weld. and i am re-woring the manua choke cable and clamops and pieces to be even better than they were configured and weakly, installed and supported,. horribly,
and so it wil alll be waaaayyyyyy more better when im done with my modifications and wayy better stronger installation, and support, of the cable clamp and related mounting parts pieces
