Looking to further LOWER my F150 - Recommendations
Gentleman, I am looking to further LOWER my 2013 F150 & would greatly appreciate any recommendations on "good" Kit's. PLEASE include PIC's
So here's where I am currently. A couple years ago, I installed a 2" Rear Drop, using Ford Racing Shackles, making it 1/2" higher than the Front (still have OE Shackle's).
I read a few people have used a McGaughy's Lowering Kit # 70029, which is a 2/4 Drop & what I want. Unfortunately I am unable to find great detail about it.
Of course I am including Pic's... The first 2 are from 3 years ago, when I dropped the Rear... The next 2 are recent photos

Reason: added information
He has done some outstanding work on his truck. The suspensions are very similar between these generations.
Thank you sir, but a custom job isn't what I am looking for. That's a sweet looking truck though.... Not sure if you had seen his previous truck, but it was the same generation as mine & equally as beautiful as his current. It also had a Bell Tech 3/5 kit but raised a inch when using the 22" wheels. Although I only see Pic's of the Bell-Tech 3/5 (see Link below);
Check out Belltech I am going to use them but as of yet I have not. I have to do some work on the 55 F-100 . They have a rebate going or at least did awhile back.

I am considering the # 983SP in fact, for complicated reasons...lol
Essentially the Front is adjustable between +1 to -3 (depending on where u set the perch on the strut) and the Rear is a -4 (flip kit). I could either set the Front on -2 and re-install my OE Shackles, using their flip-kit would give me -4 drop in the rear... OR .. I could set the Front on -3 and use my Ford Performance -2 Shackles in conjunction with their -4 flip-kit (-6 total).
With this kit I have 2 options, given the shackles I already have...
1. lower the front 2" and the rear 4" which leaves the rear appx 3/4" higher than the front
2. lower the front 3" and the rear 6" which "may" leave the rear appx 1/4" lower than the front
However, this all depends on how "exact" the Kit's changes actually are
* Does anybody actually have Belltech's Street-Performance shocks/struts on their Truck
My Rancho's are adjustable, but it only adjusts the compression, not the rebound (stupid).
Belltech advised compression & rebound, are both stiffer than OE.
* I want the Truck to feel as stiff as possible... Plus I installed the Hellwig sway-bar.
With the flip kit it is actually 5 inches if you put the stock shackles back in, 4 inches for the axle and 1 for the block, the one kit I commented on in the other thread has a 1 inch lift shackle on it.
I was planning on swapping both my F&R springs, R&L to each other. Because my truck sits slightly lower on the left side (appx 3/8") due to the fuel tank being on the same side of the driver, I assume. Which is stupid IMO, as I am perfectly capable of walking to the right side while fueling. Which would distribute weight more evenly, as there's normally just a driver.
However, in the directions for the Rear, it states to mark the Leaf-Springs R&L (see below) as well as direction.
Does that mean R&L leaf-springs are different somehow?
The Front looks straight forward & while it states to mark the center of the coil spring, for alignment purposes to the top mount (see below).
It does not mention anything in reference to marking R&L. Which again makes me question whether or not the Rears are different R&L.
Belltech #983SP has been ordered, so in a couple weeks Ruby will be 2" Lower overall It's currently @ 0"- 2" & setting this kit @ 2"- 4" (remember 2WD is lower to begin with) so freaking excited!
Note: my adjustable Rancho RS9000's will be For-Sale afterwards (PM if interested)
Great News.... The Belltech # 983SP Kit has been Installed & the Truck looks like a Sport-Truck should
Now for some details; as I previously stated I wanted to switch the Springs (both Front & Rear) Right to Left, while it was apart. Because the Truck sat 3/8 inch lower on the left side. IMO, it's because all the weight is always on the left side (Fuel Tank & Driver), not to mention the Springs are 6 y/o's old now... My theory proved right, the Truck now sits only 1/8 inch lower on the left side & that's with a Full Tank of Gas! Plus, initial measurements were taken with only a 1/8-1/4 fuel level, so it may actually be less than 1/8 inch considering. I'll re-measure later.
Also, I initially wanted a 2-4 drop. However, I ended up with a 3-5 drop... Here's how; after the Flip-Kit was installed (yes, I re-installed the oem Shackles) it was actually 3" lower, than it was with the 2" shackles & 3+2=5 total. This was confirmed after the Front was set at a 2" drop, which resulted in the Front being nearly an inch higher than the Rear (oh, hell no). So, the Front was taken back apart (urrgg) & all collars removed, then set at max-drop of 3" supposedly. Afterwards, the Truck sits exactly 5/8" higher in the Rear... PERFECT, IMO
I guess I need to get mine done now Warren and we can just run the trucks up on the Dragon. I was beating up on the RT Chargers and GT Mustangs with my little V6 Mustang on Wednesday of this week.
I like the look I am going to use the belltech kit. Did you install yourself and if so were any problems incurred ?
I did not. I have a friend w/a custom shop "ARH Designs" & more time than me (lol). Was only the 2nd time Ruby has ever had someone else work on her.
