Trust me (being car audio ignorant), I had the same concern so contacted Kicker directly and was told that it won't be a problem at all. They have a safety margin built in and 25 over isn't a problem. I can't recall the specifics but the guy also said it was preferred - something about pushing more to them at lower levels and avoiding clipping.
When you turn up a smaller amplifier too far, it starts distorting and this is what they call "clipping". Most all of the clipping distortion is high frequencies, so the crossover in a 2-way or 3-way speaker will direct all this high frequency distortion to the tweeters, and it blows them out. That's why he said a larger amplifier cruising along is better than a smaller one being pushed to the limit.
You can blow the tweeters out of a 300w speaker setup with just a 20 watt amplifier turned up and distorting.
So obviously i havent figured out the fab quirks just yet...gonna spend a day in the junk yard with my multitool and stereo template i made out of thin sheet metal. I photoshopped what my final design should look like..double din needs a 4" width...whatever i do will be CLOSE!
This is my set up... did it when i first got the truck about 5 years ago. Almost forgot I had a small amp behind the rear bench. Wish I had some more bass honestly but i couldn't figure out a good way to add it without a box in the back. I wonder if there are some shallow subs that fit under the seats or behind the rear bench these days.

They make under the seat subs.
Also for the OP. I would but a kit that uses the correct mounting location. I had one mounted to the bezel and it was squeak city.
Of course the sound won't be like a full size one but the compact size is great.
Good to know. I was checking out some of these on Amazon last night, planning on doing a pioneer touch screen with 4 channel with a under the seat sub. Hopefully enough to sound decent. I have sound proofed the cab pretty well thus far with hopes to better the sound environment.
Let us know which under the seat sub you go with. Was on amazon last night as well and looks like there are options from just about all the big brand but reviews were all sketchy on longevity.

Not sure what you're getting at, my install kit is mounted to the correct mounting location.. It isn't mounted to the bezel at all.
Used the install kit crutchfield sent which is a metra, which uses the original mounting bracket.
no experience with the carxtc stuff but it appears to be the same kit as metras.
I'd like to see some pics of it in use with a stereo besides retrosound.

I must have crossed your post with another that shows a bezel mounted din box.
