Hello, Looking for Shock options for a nicer ride. Not lifted, 33 inch mud tires with 22 inch wheels. Also not interested in lifting it. Just want a nicer ride and wanna know what has worked for others. Thanks
A little more information about your rig will be helpful in providing some feedback. The Gas and Diesels weigh different and prefer different shock and spring setups. Define nicer. I am sure that will get you some information back in terms of shocks that will help. Also, you cannot expect a caddy style ride with mud tires. Also with 22" wheels and 33" tires, you don't have much sidewall to absorb some of what the roads and terrain give you back. JMHO.
Be sure to search the forum and spend some time researching. There are a number of threads talking about this topic.
Gas V10. Not looking for caddy ride but some suggestions with my set up what I can add to make ride a little less bumpy. It is Rhino lined all the way around but dont think that adds much weight.
Kyb MonoMax is a good shock for stock height Ex but with our tire setup don’t set your expectations very high, 22”s with 33 M/T are always going to have a poor ride quality especially on the Ex with its limited suspension travel.
fwiw... the gas and diesel use the same running gear so the unsprung weigh is the same, they would use the same shock valving. Shocks control the speed at which the suspension moves so the are valved according to the weight of the axles/tires not the sprung weight of the vehicle. The vehicle weigh will dictate the your spring rate.
