I'm having no luck removing the snap ring that holds the pickup coil on. I've tried prying up with picks. I've tried penetrating oil. Still no luck. Any suggestions?
I have had reasonable luck with my pocket jackknife.Kind of slice it under the ring with the tip of the knife at the slot/break in the snap ring. Move knife slightly to use the sharp tip and pry up a bit. Be ready with something else like a very small screwdriver to slip under when the knife tip has a portion of the ring away. Can be a pain. Good luck1
thanks NumberDummy. So green is the piece I'm trying to remove. Orange appears to just be part of the shaft if I read your diagram correctly. Is this correct? Sorry for the confusion.

What you see in this parts catalog pic is all there is. I pointed out several of what the basic part numbers were for.
