I have a 1985 f150 2wd with a 300 straight 6 and a c6 trans. I pulled the engine and trans out of this truck to reseal the engine and trans about 2 years ago when I was still working a Ford for my boss. when we found out that crank was grooved to hell it got put on the back burner. Since then I have quit and now my old boss wanted me to put the engine and trans t at my house.
the problem I am now running into I dont remember how the shift linkage goes any pics or link would help alot.
Welcome to FTE
I cant help as both of my trucks are stick but I am sure someone will be by that can help when not out working on their truck.

Here is an example with the bracket and the bellcrank piece. The inner arm is the shifter, the outer small arm is the kickdown lever, you can see that is not hooked up in the picture below.
This is not exactly like yours, but it has the same theme with the rod from the column to the bell-crank, and then the other short rod from the bellcrank to the trans lever.

So the shift arm in the trans goes upward and down ward?
The shifter arm is the one closest to the trans, when you move it, it will have detents it clicks through. Grab the output shaft, move the arm as far as it will go. If you can't turn the shaft anymore that is "park". If you can still turn the shaft that is "L1". Move it all the way the other way and it should lock the output shaft and that is park.
