82 351w w/ c6 speedometer cable

82 351w w/ c6 speedometer cable
Okay, dumb question:
ive got an 82 351w and 82 c6 in my 47 ford pick up. The speedometer is clicking really bad and it seems like the cable is catching.
When I look on rock auto or amazon there are a myriad of lengths of cables and they state for vehicles with 4wd/2wd/auto/manual, etc.
since my application is different than factory, i really only need a 60-70” cable. But those are all listed for manual transmission or for 4wd.
Is is there a real difference in the actual cable? The ones I see for a 2wd w/ auto are all about 80-90”.

I take it you have tried to lube the cable and it did not help?
Do you know what the cable ends look like both the outside and the inside one more than anything.
I am thinking if you know what the ends are on the inner one and can match that part up you may not need the outer cable if that ends were different.
I also want to say I have seen on line auto parts stores have just the inner cable and you cut to the size needed just need to know the ends it has.
Sorry to say I never had the trany ends out of my stick tranys to see what the ends were like.
