Found this in a local junkyard, guy says it’s a ‘54, the steering wheel center says “50th Anniversary” ,”1903-1953”
I didn’t recognize the triangular grille emblem..
Thanks! It’s pretty intact, the only thing I’ve seen missing is the engine. The steering wheel emblem is pretty cool!
I was there looking for mid 70’s dentside parts.
The 53 is the only year that had a 3 pointed star to represent the 6 cylinder. The 54 and 55 cylinders had 4 pointed stars. The 56 6 cylinders had no grille emblem.
Reason why no 3 pointed star after 53? I hear Mercedes Benz threatened to sue Ford because they said the 3 pointed star was too similar to the Mercedes Benz star. So Ford went with the 4 pointed star.
My 1953 has the 3 pointed star. The "teeth" on the grill. Stainless steel trim on the drip rail. Both doors have exterior door locks. Interior had full "cardboard" . Including door panels. 215 CI. Would it be a "custom/deluxe cab"?
