2012 F250 6.2 @ 82k. Time for me to replace the pads so i'm going to do all 4 pads and rotors while i'm in there. Rockauto is doing a 10% instant rebate on powerstop kits now too. Any recommendations on which kit? I tow a small jon boat and have 305 tires now so i was considering the z36 kit but im wondering if the extra cost is justified. Living in MD we see a good bit of salt in the winter so im considering the z17 kit too. Thoughts or experiences with either? z17 is $315, z36 is $534
I recently put the Z36 kit on my '01 4x4 V10. Just pulled a 24' Toy hauler and they worked great.
I have a similar set up on the wife's truck as well as it has 37" tires on it. before I changed to the Powerstop kit, it had a hard time stopping with those big tires. Serious brake fade. Now it will throw you thru the windshield.
I got my Z36 kit with 4 rotors and pads with all hardware from Summit. $300 shipped to the door with a $50 off on line coupon.
I LOVE THE COATED ROTORS AND PADS FROM POWERSTOP
I put them on my wifes Ford edge, my daughters focus, my brothers F150 and my moms explore!
The anti rust coating has held up AWESOME here in south Jersey and the pads seem to be great as well on all the vehicles listed above. My brothers truck even though not a super duty he tows a bass boat all summer and a 16foot welded jon boat for duck hunting all winter and he says the brakes are much better than before.
When my pads are due I'm going with the standard coated kit you mentioned above
