Headache rack wiring
I made a set of heavy duty bed rails with a headache rack. I put a 48" tailgate light bar at the top of the rack and now need to wire it.
I'm pretty numb when it comes to wiring so I need a little help. The light bar comes with a 4 pin trailer plug on it so I can just run the wires to that and plug it in.
I still need to run a constant hot wire to the light. Where is a good place to do that? The only wire I can think of that's near the cab/bed spot is the gas tank sending unit.
There must be a better place than that.
Once I feel a little more confident with my wiring I'd like to hard wire the light and ditch the trailer plug but for now I'm going to take the easy way out.
The bar also has white reverse lights that need to be wired separately. I'm going to wire that to one of my upfitter switches and use it for a cargo/bed light.
