Are the Limited Production Order paints for big fleet orders, or is Ford going to offer some for sale to the public to see how well they sell? Ford has been stuck in a rut with mostly conservative colors for the last several years.
2020 will be the last year of the current update. It’ll probably be a short year model run. I expect Job 1 for 2021s will require each F150 line to be shut down for a few weeks while retooling and training are done.
From time to time Ford and GM have sold small numbers of non standard colors down here. I was shopping new trucks in ‘94 and looked a red and white F150 SuperCab. It was rainy and cold that day. I bought a green truck instead. I can tell that they seemed disappointed to not sell the red and white truck. A couple days later it was sunny as I drove by the dealer. In the sunlight, that red looked like lipstick or nail polish. It had a pink pearl tone to it. Sure glad that I didn’t choose that one.
For the life of me, I'm completely baffled by how the largest builder of trucks in North America (possibly the world) can have so many quality issues and still sell trucks at the rate that they do. Are we as a nation so brand loyal that we'll openly and willingly support mediocrity as the high standard?

I expect better from Ford.
The 5.0 issue is a huge screw up, really disappointing that they could engineer it so poorly, but anything to make a buck. Why Ford? The competition isn't much different.

Which competition?
Nissan warranties the Titan for 5 years / 100,000 miles.
Tundra and Taco have very few mechanical issues like the 5.0L though both truck builders aren't as up to date on gadgets and tech.
The tech means nothing if you can't drive the damned thing.

Couldn't say it much better. The engine updates and changes are baffling to me. Something went wrong with the cylinder coating (I presume) on the current generation of 5.0L. I'm guessing they're trying to fix that, or going back to a sleeved design.

I for one am far from brand loyal. I care as much about any one brand as they do about me. I've owned 6 vehicles in 32 years and this if my only repeat brand and it took me 27 years to do that.
Now as far as generally speaking (as a nation) I do think so. People will buy something, no matter the cost, because of a name on it.
Expecting more from any company? That's expecting too much, in my opinion.
Looking back to when I bought this truck, the only thing that kept me from a Tundra was the lack of tech/gadget - and I wanted to stay in a turbo vehicle.
Nothing wrong with brand loyalty when the other brands haven’t proved worthy for a consumer. I’ve logged a couple million miles, and have had close to two dozen Ford vehicles. Ford has always fit my bill. I’ve had two trucks that proved to be less stellar than the others, and my current 2018 5.0L has proven to be the worst. However, now that the engines been replaced, it seems to be proving itself. I’ve driven the big three, and prefer Ford. I guess going back each time to what has proven to be successful, fits my butt and tastes best, well... makes me brand loyal. Even with my 5.0L escapade, I looked at switching, and the ties are ugly, and the goats are still junk. Toads and other pseudo trucks aren’t my game today, so that makes me more brand loyal. I guess I’ll exit stage left.
I too have been brand loyal only because Ford's have treated me quite well with reference to reliability. No reason to change of it works. My current truck has seen the least issues of any vehicle that I've owned. But I'm quickly turning the corner on my opinions. My next car or crossover won't be a Ford because I simply believe that Ford isn't the best quality builder in those segments nor are they the most American made.
These forums tend to make a lot of problems seem more widespread than they actually are. It's not just Ford. Go visit the Ram or Chevy forums and you'll see the grass isn't always greener. Actually the Ram forums are worse. I try to take a lot of what I read with a grain of salt because most of the issues I've read about haven't happened to me, or friends or family or neighbors or co-workers or that random guy that I talk to while fueling up that asks me about my truck or vice versa. I wouldn't even be aware of a lot of these issues if I didn't read about them on the forums. This makes a lot of people reading the forums worry about issues they don't have or may never have.
