The dealer can make a huge difference too. I am fortunate to have at least six different Ford dealers in my local area. I've tried four of them. Three of them I won't be going back to.
Far more people seem to complain than people that like their vehicle I spoke to a lot of people that like myself had zero problems with the early 3.5 Eco motor. I had a 2012 and a 2015 never had a problem with either one but i saw a lot of posts on the forums shouting "My F150 almost got me killed", "Never buy a 3.5 Eco they are nothing but trouble". Come to find that about 1/3 never owned a 3.5 Eco, they were ujust parroting what they had "heard". I have also owned a 2.0 eco in an 2016 Escape and now have a 2018 Edge with the same motor, The Edge even though it's a larger vehicle has much more pep!.
As far as I know, there was only 1 prior generation of the Coyote prior to the one now with the plasma lined cylinders. Unless you're counting the latest 4.6 modular that it's based off of.
Maybe 700+ on the ZR1 when it comes out in another year or two but the standard Vette has less than 500HP.
Lol......GM playing catch up to Ford again with the new engine layout for it’s halo car, the Corvette.
Hard to call the Vette a "Halo car" when the base price of the new Vette starts below a well appointed Lariat F-150. The ZR1 yes, but base Vette will be one heck of a sports car bargain. I hate to say it but if this thing handles as well as it does on paper, Ford will be playing catch up.
Competition between manufacturers and the customer wins.

It's a Chevy, it won't take long until Chevy things start to happen. Had two of them, it was shocking how terrible their flagship vehicles were.

Well, the Vette is GM‘s halo car regardless of where the price starts
just like the Ford GT is Ford‘s halo car because it’s currently being produced, and it has the highest combination of technology and performance of any other Ford vehicle.
The new Vette will not sell for under $60K so don’t believe the hype and why you would compare a pure sports car to a half ton pickup is just silly but okay........As you said, the "base" price of a new Vette is below a well appointed Lariat but is the same base priced Vette below a base F150 or even a well appointed XLT?
Nope.
I‘m sure the new Vette will handle very well and it’s a bargain compared to other sports cars but Ford will not have to play catch-up because Ford does not offer a pure sports car that has been in "constant" production since the early 50‘s.

do you even know what the hell you're talking about? gm has never played 'catch up' with ford with the vette, because ford has never had a competitor for the vette.

Dude, you need to take a chill pill. Over the whopping four pages of post you’ve made since you’ve come aboard, 50% are sarcastic as can be and pissy. You should back up a bit if you plan to make friends. No one here is questioning your manliness or asking you to pound your chest. Be cool. We’re all friends here.
Couldn't say it much better. The engine updates and changes are baffling to me. Something went wrong with the cylinder coating (I presume) on the current generation of 5.0L. I'm guessing they're trying to fix that, or going back to a sleeved design.
If they are smart, they will go back to a sleeved cylinder. I probably would not have considered the plasma coated cylinders even before the issues cropped up. Now there is a zero percent chance that I would ever buy one.
