Spin off from a thread where I thought I have some TC shudder under 2000 RPM. someone suggested that it could be an engin miss instead. So I ran the AE and had high perdels on 1, 3, and 8. Also got codes for 3 and 8. Got a new cps on the way from Riffraff. Just got home and ohmed out all of the injectors. All drivers side were 1.973 and all passengers side were 1.971. All close to each other, but far from 3ohms. I bought a set of used injectors a while back from a wrecked truck that had 84k on the odometer. can I just test them out of the truck? I also ordered from Riffraff a new cps and o-rings for the injectors. And I also ordered an adapter to do a compression test while it's apart. I have about 460K on the injectors, and did the stiction shims last winter. Now it just seems to lack some power and at low rpms it shudders. So at the 1.971 ohms, is that telling me that ALL of the injectors are weak? What should my next step be?
I understand that in Chattanooga, TN, Diesel Plus has the equipment to test each injector’s spray pattern and overall function. Mike Perkins is a co-owner and is called “Dr. Diesel” on a Saturday morning radio talk show which is very interesting and fun to tune in to. I too have high mileage on mine and will simply order a set from Clay when that time comes. About the only test you can do is the buzz test. If you like the the truck and plan to keep it then new sticks should be a no-brainer.
Keep it between the lines.
