Fuel Pressure

Is it normal for fuel pressure to fluctuate a pound or 2 at idle? I'm not sure but I think my gauge fluctuated a bit today while stopped at a stop sign dropped a pound or 2 then came right back up to 60 psi not sure if it did it not because I just caught it at a glance. Got the blue spring update with the adjustable regulator from sinister. fuel pump is about a month old. Trucks an 03 studded and deleted. Thanks

I have an Isspro gauge and it’ll move around a bit. I don’t see any reason to be concerned.

45-55 psi is the spec...........that "blue spring" is adding about 5-10 psi.........if you were running high without the blue spring, I'd be checking the return lines for restrictions.....

Thanks for easing my mind guys . Probably a big coincidence but the last time I seen that my fuel pump went out on me about a week later so you understand why I got a little concerned lol

Early on Ford came out w/ a statement that up to 75 psig is fine. After that, there was a brand of a regulator spring (can't recall the brand name right now) that enabled 100 psig pressure. No one ever connected any problems to running that high, but I certainly never wanted to. 65 psig is a great point to run at IMO!

A while back I was running around 75 almost 80 at start up and I actually thought that it may have damaged an injector so that's why I got a new blue spring kit from sinister with the adjustable regulator. But I also had a bad fuel pump relay. So I don't know if that was causing the extra pressure or not it was a high circuit code so who knows but I by passed the relay and ran the pump to a toggle switch with a 20amp fuse probably not the best setup but I couldn't afford a new fuse panel.
