I drive a 2015 F250, diesel 6.7, 38k miles.
last week driving down the road, lost power, the low oil, Advance Trac, Engine over heating and the wrench codes appeared on screen. I pulled over to side, stoped put truck in park and tried to start after checking oil, temp etc. when I attempted to start nothing happened, did not turn over no clicking ( like a dead battery sound) but the radio, instrument panel flashers all worked with no problem. Called dealer and was towed. Monday the service tech went out and truck started. The codes appeared, Ford’s service manual said to clear codes then test drive and watch for first code,. Problem is no codes and after fifty plus miles of road testing still no new codes.
any thoughts or ideas?
There is a connection in the wiring harness above the parking brake. This connection comes loose, & causes the problem you describe. Cure is to work the connection in & out a few times, & remove the attachment of the harness to the parking brake assembly. Wire tie it up & out of the way. Doing this cures a lot of the trucks that have this problem. It worked on the 2013 I drive that started doing this a few years back, & the problem hasn't come back. There are some detailed threads on this site about this problem, you may find them with a search.
