Unfortunately I can not keep my truck where I am currently living. So it sits in an old garage a couple of hours away, one of the reasons it is up for sale. In the meantime I noticed it was getting a bit dirty while sitting in the garage. I am thinking about covering it while it is inside...do you have any experience with a quality cover?
Get a soft cloth cover, then cover it with a plastic sheet. Any cloth will just filter the dirt down to dust, so you need to use plastic on top to keep it actually clean. Leave it so it can breathe.
The California Car Cover company’s covers are good quality and fit. They have a cotton flannel lined that is very nice. You can shop and pay less, but I think there is a difference and worth a little extra money to get a good cover if you’re going to use it for a while.
I had to park my 67 F100 outside over the winter last year. I live in southern Ontario and we had a harsh winter with months of snow and freezing rain, with weeks in the minus 20F range. I purchased a Covercraft Noah cover that wasn't cheap but it was made to measure for the truck and none of the nasty weather got through. I removed it after the winter (to extend it's life) and bought a used universal sized cover for dust, tree droppings and UV for the warmer months.
