My gas gauge shows less then 1/4 tank, however when refilling it only takes 22 gallons. Noticed that my mpg and miles to empty is staying in sync with what the gas gauge displays. Anyone encounter this issue?
2019 F350 SRW Super Duty with 6.7 turbo diesel
Yep. These are notorously conservative on remaining fuel. I usually push the DTE meter and still only fill up 26-27 gallons because I'm tired of it dinging me all the damn time. A 8 gallon reserve is really excessive on a 36 gallon tank. My 6.0 truck didn't have nearly that amount of reserve.
This can't just be my opinion - it's a pretty common question on here.
This is probably the best thread on this issue. This TSB is for earlier year vehicles. I would push your dealer to fix it. It doesn’t mean your truck couldn’t be impacted also.
My 2017 had the 2019 only door lock repair kits applied even though those procedures were only meant for 2019’s and there is a separate procedure for 2017’s.
Dealer service department visit this morning. Without batting an eye, as they say, service manager scheduled appointment for repairs. Said there was a bulletin addressing this hit and miss issue with newer SD trucks. Will post what is done following visit this Thursday.
So this is an issue on 2019s still? My first tank didn't even get 400 miles with 14.1 on the lie-o-meter. I typically dont put a full tank in it as I usually ride my motorcycle when the weather in South Texas is different, so I am wondering if this is exhibiting the same problem as yours.
Is there a TSB that has the 2019 year model on it? I've read through the previous threads here and saw that there was a TSB for the 2017s.
Edit: I dont have a sig yet, but my truck is a 2019 6.2 CCSB 4x4

I’ll ask if there is a new TSB at the visit. The only one I was aware of is the 2017 posted on this forum.
Same thing here with my fuel gauge. Way too large of a reserve on this. Seems like I'm hitting my warning light with about 10 gallons left in the tank ... which is about 170 miles! Annoying.
The dealership did their due diligence yesterday in checking everything to ensure there were no obvious issues. The service manager advised me that they are trying to use the 2017 bulletin to fix mine ... decision from Ford Corporate forthcoming. There isn’t an updated bulletin other then TSB-17-0046.
part of the issue is owners not elevating their complaints to Ford Corporation. If you are experiencing the same issue with Fuel Gauge you need to file a complaint with Ford.
I’ll keep everyone posted on my journey.
