Yes it’s a fuel tank and sensor. Still no word on my end.
depends on what they find parts wise once removed... My 17 6.2 they only replaced the tank NOT the sensor and I tried to get the fuel pump done , for long crank issue ( while it was apart , NO GO JUST THE TANK) I can fit more fuel now but no the advertised capacity....
This past week I towed my AS for the first time. Start mileage right at 2000 miles. During trip I noticed the DTE was not as quick to change as it was previously. Upon arrival at campground I was 313 miles in on towing. Monitoring the gallons vs gauge vs mileage I was pleasantly surprised to see improvement in the calculations. After a good weekend I filled and noted numbers and headed home. My instrument panels shows a good representation of fuel remaining with an approximate 4 gallon reserve ... I can live with that.
Further reading in the Ford owners manual I found a statement that the DTE will not display correctly until after 2000 miles. I let my Ford service manager know and he had never heard that ... read it himself and was actually stunned.
The stuff you can discover.
