While my 2015 F150 is in for a fender bender I got a 2019 Hemi RAM rental......
I am ashamed to admit it,it smoked my 5.0 F150 acceleration ,braking,road noise,handling
and the layout is amazing,...I feel duped, like Ford lied to me
Lied to you about what? You’re driving a brand new truck in a generation that wasn’t out in 2015. It has a mild hybrid to give it an impressive launch from a stopped position.
I don’t get why you feel lied to. If you don’t like your current truck, trade it in on a Ram.
The new Ram has had great reviews, they obviously improved it substantially.
All the trucks available today are good, only a fanboy would tell you differently.
However, since this is a Ford forum.....you are going to get some flak.
I don't know what Ford told you that was a lie, but do keep in mind that you are comparing a brand new truck to a 4 year old truck.
I like them all, I'm not brand loyal. I do like my Ford. I did like my Dodges/Rams. I even liked my Chevy and 2 Mazda trucks.
Get what you like.
I'd be more interested in hearing your opinion of a new comparably equipped F-150 after driving to the Ford dealership in your loaner Ram. That would be more of an apples-to-apples comparison.

Hmmmmm, comparing an almost 5 year old vehicle to a 2019 vehicle that’s in the same class is just silly.
When you purchased your 2015 F150, did you compare it to a 2015 RAM because I’m willing to bet that your feelings now would be in the reverse back in 2015.

I dont see why its silly,my F150 has the same engine as the new ones, only change is the tranny
the RAM I have in my driveway is a basic model,no fancy hybrid BS..
So I plan to go to Ford and try a new one, then a RAM and maybe a GMC.....
Since my 2015 which I bought in 5/16 has 60K on the clock I can still get good coin for it
They all lie. Fluid change schedules, forever fuel filters, real world towing capability, mpg.
Do you have numbers or just a feeling as far as power and braking? I like RAM but liked
Ford better in 2016.

Well, other than the “duped” comment, I think that’s all good stuff. Yes, comparing two completely different MYs is not a fair comparison, but it does show that Ram is finally taking the game seriously. I’m driving a ‘16 F-150 and my father has a ‘16 Ram 1500. Comparing the two, I can see the outdated design, nasty plastic and poorly fitting parts on the Ram. But, if Ram wants to attract new customers, then they have to earn it. That’s what gets you to the Ram you’re driving today. Ford has never risked their sales title so we know they’ll respond appropriately. It’s all good...
My 2011 3.5L ecoboost will go cruise over mountains without a downshift while allthis new stuff from GM and Ram still downshifts like it's trying to catch it's breath. I love that Ram has toppled GM in sales and yet Ford still leadds the way. Call me a Ford truck fanboy, I've been called much worse.
As I've posted several times before, I own a small fleet of trucks. Right now, it consists of 4 Rams, 1 Chevy, 1 MB van, and 1 Ford which I run personally. The all have their plusses and minuses.
My maintenance/repair records on my Rams are quite extensive over the years. Just off the top of my head, I think there is approximately 600K combined on the 4 I have currently. They have all suffered from HVAC, front end, and brake issues as well one that has drank oil excessively since it was new. I will say that they have improved drastically over the years, but at least in my opinion, still lag behind in quality over the others, especially in some areas. I've mainly started buying Fords due to the aluminum body as an attempt to get away from the body rust issues with the Rams and GM trucks. Only time will tell if that works out.
Anyway, I've had a bunch of Rams over the years and all and all they haven't been bad work trucks. But like all others, they certainly are not perfect.
