I think I finally found a body guy to do my '66, it's in pretty good shape, but I do need a couple of items, the most important is the front cab mount pedestals. Who makes the best? Anyone have an oppinion?
Not sure what pedestal you mean but if you are talking about body sheet metal Carolina Classics can't be beat if they make it, if you are talking about frame brackets Flashback F-100s can get you clean used parts.
Eric:
I also have a set of clean originals cut from a 66, if you want oem quality. Let me know. I would let them go cheap because shipping is the main culprit.
Eric.
Ya, I'm talking about the sheet metal for the bottom of the cab. I was leaning towards Flashback as they are USA made, it looks like they are just the front portion of the mount without the tail pc. I emailed them to see if they offer the other pc.
I am not watching prices this time around, this will be my LAST truck and Last restoration I do, as I'm 66 this year. So it has to last until I can't find where I parked it. Then whoever finds it can worry about repairs. ;-)

any idea what total cost to me would be? I have a commercial address with recieving facilities in West Wareham,Ma.02576
Eric:
I can weigh them and size a box if you want me to, but I would guess (instinctively maybe not accurately) that shipping ups will be around $40.00. They are really bulky. I really am not looking to make money from them. i just saved them in case a member here was in need. Maybe another $40.00 for the trouble of pack and ship would be fair. Also, I would suggest sending you some photos if you want to go further, just to make sure all the metal is there that you need. I did cut beyond all the spot welds, so they need to be drilled out as well.

You're asking for the front cab mounts (5077/5078 in pic) that attach to the frame. These are not of sheet metal construction, sheet metal refers to body parts like fenders, doors etc.
I probably wouldn’t use that term in any case...it doesn’t sound like a truck part. I'm making an assumption based upon his post....he’ll probably be along in a moment to make sure we understand what he’s looking for. Meanwhile...photos in my next post, for his perusal.
Here are the things I would interpret as the "sheet metal mounts for the bottom of the cab" or whatever we want to call them. These are from a southern Calif. truck, so the rust you see is surface only. The metal is very solid. Let me know if I'm out to lunch.....
Eric....how quick is quickly? I have to find a box, pack, weigh and get a shipping estimate to be sure that I gave you good information. Will be gone tomorrow and overnight....remember, this is charity work.
Not that quick, just getting in resto-mode, finished up building a tilt-bed trailer this weekend and we've had a few wood working projects before that so the shop is not in resto-mode just yet. I just gave my body guy the stepside pieces Saturday, the cab is still in my yard. Gonna start on a total SHOP Douche today to get my chassis back in. I've got a week easy before he'll get the cab. And I know you're not a business . Oh and I figured 80ish on the shipping, trucking has got real expensive lately, I know I drive a Freightliner for a living.
