Hello all, today while doing an oil change I noticed that what I believe is the transmission has an opening on the bottom and a gear inside is visible. I’m assuming this should be covered with a cap or grommet but couldn’t find anything after searching online. If this is supposed to be covered what would be the name of it ?? I will attach pictures below. As always, all input is appreciated.
that is the flywheel ring gear.. that's what the starter engages to turn the motor... should have a rubber plug over it. ..... measure it and buy a plug at the Auto Store or Dealer... no hurry.
